MRA-857 is a set of plasmid control papers for Anopheles gambiae and Anopheles arabiensis rDNA IGS identification in PCR analysis. This kit contains 50 paper strips (Schliecher & Schuell 903 cards) from each group spotted with plasmid controls (0.5 ng/?L plasmid) containing an 815-bp fragment of the rDNA IGS, defined by primers 5'-CCTAACAACCCTCTGAGATCC -3' and 5'-CATGCACAAGACATCC TACTACC-3' including bases 177-981 (Genbank: U10135). PCR primers are also available through BEI Resources (MRA-336). The A. gambiae rDNA was cloned from the ZAN/U strain (MRA-594) and A. arabiensis rDNA from the KGB strain (MRA-339).
