This delay on new orders is due to a required acclimation period from the date of receipt from the vendor and the exposure of the animals to cercariae. Please plan in advance when ordering hamsters. Authorization from an institution's animal care and use committee is usually required for these animals to be accepted into a facility. Shipments of hamsters ordered through BEI Resources will be shipped by Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) in Rockville, MD.
