Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii), strain MRSN 25547 was isolated in 2014 from a human wound in Europe as part of a global surveillance program.
A. baumannii, strain MRSN 25547 was deposited as part of the MRSN Acinetobacter baumannii Diversity Panel available from BEI Resources as NR-52248. NR-52210 was deposited as multi-locus sequence type (MLST) ST 2, sensitive to colistin and resistant to amikacin, ceftazidime, ciprofloxacin, ceftriaxone, cefepime, gentamicin, imipenem, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, levofloxacin, meropenem, tobramycin, tetracycline and ampicillin/sulbactam. Strain MRSN 25547 is reported to have five aminoglycoside transferase genes [aac(3)-IIa, aph(3’’)-Ib, aph(3’)-VIa, aph(3’)-VIb and aph(6)-Id; conferring resistance to various aminoglycosides], four beta-lactamase genes (blaADC-25, blaOXA-23, blaOXA-66 and blaPER-1; conferring resistance to beta-lactams) and a sulfonamide resistance gene (sul2; conferring resistance to sulfonamides). The complete genome of A. baumannii, strain MRSN 25547 is available (GenBank: VHGF00000000).
Each vial contains approximately 0.5 mL of bacterial culture in Tryptic Soy broth supplemented with 10% glycerol.
