MRA-334B?? Anopheles gambiae, RSP, Bulk Frozen(Vectors)|Anopheles gambiae| Anopheles gambiae, RSP, Bulk Frozen|-80°C|FH Collins, H RansonAcknowledgment for publications should read "The following reagent was obtained through BEI Resources, NIAID, NIH: Anopheles gambiae, Strain RSP, Bulk Frozen, MRA-334B, contributed by Frank H. Collins and Hilary Ranson."|Quantity limit per order for this item is 1. This item can be ordered twice a year. Orders over this limit will be sent to NIAID for approval before shipment.Anopheles gambiae (A. gambiae), strain RSP (Reduced Susceptibility to Permethrin) was isolated from "PIN" and "PIC" bednet study areas northwest of Kisumu, Kenya. This stock contains the east African form of the KDR sodium channel mutation allele, and shows increased cytochrome P450 activity and elevated beta-esterase activity.MRA-334B contains approximately 200 unsexed, adult wild-type A. gambiae, strain RSP mosquitoes, which were preserved in liquid nitrogen (quick-frozen) while alive. MRA-334B is suitable for DNA and RNA isolation, protein extraction, etc. Vulule, J. M., et al. "Long-Term Use of Permethrin-Impregnated Nets Does Not Increase Anopheles gambiae Permethrin Tolerance."
