Mouse monoclonal antibody prepared against the Hantaan virus Gc (formerly G2) glycoprotein was affinity purified from clone 8E10 hybridoma supernatant using protein G magnetic beads. The B cell hybridoma was generated by the fusion of Sp2/0-Ag14 mouse myeloma cells with splenocytes from mice immunized with protein A sepharose-bound Hantaan virus glycoprotein-antibody complexes as described by Arikawa et al.

Each vial of NR-36167 contains approximately 100 ?L of purified monoclonal antibody in PBS.
NR-36167 is reactive in indirect immunofluorescence assays using Vero E6 cells infected with Hantaan virus. Although clone 8E10 is reported to lack neutralizing activity against Hantaan virus, NR-36167 is somewhat active in plaque reduction neutralization tests. The antibody is also reported to function in ELISA, hemagglutination inhibition, and immunoprecipitation assays and to cross-react on Prospect Hill virus, Puumala virus, and Sapporo rat virus.
