The murine hybridoma cell line, S1-3D6, was generated by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells with splenocytes from female BALB/c mice immunized with the 19-kDa fragment of the merozoite surface protein 1 (MSP119) of Plasmodium falciparum (P. falciparum) strains FVO and 3D7. The monoclonal antibody produced, anti-MSP119, is specific for the MSP119 of both FVO and 3D7 parasites.
Each vial contains approximately 0.5 mL of hybridoma cells in cell culture medium supplemented with 10% dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) at a concentration of 5 × 106 cells per mL. Sufficient cells are provided to initiate at least one new culture.
Hybridoma S1-3D6 produces monoclonal antibody of the IgG1 subclass, which specifically recognizes MSP119 from both FVO and 3D7 strains of P. falciparum, and is not growth inhibitory on P. falciparum parasites.
