Mouse monoclonal antibody (clone AB15-3) reactive with the H4 hemagglutinin (HA) of the A/mallard/Alberta/455/2015 (H4N6) strain of influenza virus was produced in mouse ascites. Ascites formation was induced by injecting cultured hybridoma cells into the peritoneal cavity of BALB/c mice that had been primed with Incomplete Freund’s adjuvant. The harvested ascites fluid was pooled and then clarified using centrifugation and filtration.
HA is an antigenic glycoprotein found on the envelope of the influenza A virus. This protein binds to cellular receptors on the target cell and allows the influenza A virus to enter via endocytosis and membrane fusion. HA is an important target for drug and vaccine development.
Each vial contains approximately 0.5 mL mouse ascites fluid, lyophilized.
NR-51384 is specific to the H4 HA of influenza virus as determined in serological hemagglutinin inhibition (HI) assays. Applications: HI, western blot, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, virus neutralization test.
