Haemaphysalis longicornis (H. longicornis) colony was established from a parthenogenic strain of ticks flagged from vegetation in 2018 in Yonkers, New York, USA.

H. longicornis is an arthropod vector competent for transmitting the following pathogens: Anaplasma bovis, Borrelia sp., Ehrlichia chaffeensis, Powassan virus, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome, spotted fever group Rickettsia sp., Theileria annulata and tick-borne encephalitis virus.

The mitochondrial genome of a representative H. longicornis colony has been sequenced (GenBank: NC_037493).

NR-51847 contains a live, wild-type H. longicornis larval batch. Registrants may order up to 10 larval batches in a given month.

Note: H. longicornis can also be obtained in adult (NR-51846) or nymph stages (NR-51848).
