This item can be ordered twice a year. Orders over this limit will be sent to NIAID for approval before shipment.
Genomic RNA was extracted from a preparation of cell lysate and supernatant from Cercopithecus aethiops kidney epithelial cells (Vero E6; ATCC
? CRL-1586?) infected with SARS-related coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), isolate USA-WA1/2020.
SARS-CoV-2, USA-WA1/2020 was isolated from an oropharyngeal swab from a patient with a respiratory illness who had recently returned from travel to the affected region of China and developed clinical disease (COVID-19) in January 2020 in Washington, USA. The complete genome of SARS-CoV-2, USA-WA1/2020 has been sequenced (the isolate - GenBank:
MN985325 and after one
passage in Vero cells - GenBank:
MT020880). The complete genome of SARS-CoV-2, USA-WA1/2020 has been sequenced after four passages in Vero cells in collaboration with Database for Reference Grade Microbial Sequences (FDA-ARGOS; GenBank:
MT246667). BioProject
PRJNA716271,
Sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 Isolates from BEI Resources, has been published on the
NCBI website. The sequences from the BEI Resources SARS-CoV-2 isolates
included in the project have been deposited into GenBank (SRA:
SRP312598)
and the sequence for SARS-CoV-2, isolate USA-WA1/2020 (
NR-52281), is
available (
SAMN18527778).
Each vial contains approximately 100 ?L of viral genomic RNA in TE buffer (10 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM EDTA, pH 7.0). Each vial of lot 70033320 contains approximately 50 ?L of viral genomic RNA in TE buffer (10 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM EDTA, pH 7.0). The viral genomic RNA is in a background of cellular nucleic acid and carrier RNA. Innocuity testing was performed on the extracted RNA and results reported on the Certificate of Analysis. The vial should be centrifuged prior to opening.
