The murine hybridoma cell line, 13.5, was generated by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (P3X63.Ag8.6.5.3) with splenocytes from mice immunized with a purified, glutamate-rich, 93-kDa erytrocyte-membrane-associated protein from Plasmodium chabaudi (P. chabaudi), Pc(em)-93. This reagent was authenticated by the contributor and tested for mycoplasma.
Each vial of MRA-658 contains approximately 0.5 mL of hybridoma cells (5 × 106 cells/mL) in cell culture medium supplemented with 10% dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO).
Hybridoma 13.5 produces monoclonal antibody (isotype IgG1) that specifically recognizes an approximately 90-kDa P. chabaudi phosphoprotein associated with the erytrocyte membrane. The antigen recognized by the 13.5 antibody is an excellent marker for P. chabaudi-infected erythrocyte membranes and has been used to study protein export in infected erythrocytes.
