NR-48598 was purified from BEI Resources NR-31657 (influenza A virus, A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1) (tissue culture adapted)). NR-31657 was derived through tissue culture adaptation of BEI Resources NR-12282 which was isolated in 2007 from a 47-year-old female in Brisbane, Australia. After isolation, this strain was passaged in eggs at the CDC, followed by two egg passages at Baylor College of Medicine prior to deposit. NR-31657 was passaged nine times in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells at BEI Resources.
Sequence information is available for influenza A virus, A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1) at the Influenza Research Database. The World Health Organization recommended influenza A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1)-like viruses for use as vaccines during the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 Northern Hemisphere influenza seasons and during the 2009 Southern Hemisphere influenza season.
Each vial contains approximately 1 mL of NR-48598 in Dulbecco's phosphate buffered saline (DPBS).
